Founder Director
Guru Shumita Mahajan
Guru Shumita Mahajan established Sadhana Nrityalaya in 1991 with the sole purpose of imparting classical dance knowledge to young enthusiasts and budding artists. She is a well-known dance Guru, choreographer, dance critic, and scholar hailing from Pune and forms the core of the Sadhana team. She is the mastermind behind all Sadhana ventures and is the binding factor of the Gurukul. Her selfless nature and love for all her students make her deeply affectionate. She is a role model to many and has touched numerous lives with her kindness.
Principal
Varsha Abichandani
Varsha Abichandani is the principal of Sadhana Nrityalaya and has been nurturing young talent in the Gurukul. Varsha is a performing artist, a practitioner in dance, and is a Nritya Visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Additionally she has completely her BA degree in Classical Arts – Bharatnatyam from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth University. Varsha takes care of the Business Development vertical of the institute and works closely with Guru Shumita Mahajan on new projects and ventures. Her dedication and hands-on service attitude make her accessible by the Institute’s internal and external sources.

Dr. Leena Dhole Bhawkar
She is a sadhaka of dance for the past 20 years and is a Nritya Alankar from the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya University. Fondly known as Leena Didi, she has a fun-loving nature that captivates the hearts of all the students and artists around her. She is a BAMS-MD (Ayurveda) and a practicing proctologist in one of the leading hospitals in Pune. She strongly believes that passion can drive an individual to achieve all that they seek and forms an integral part of the team

Anagha Dussal
A performing artist and teaching faculty at Sadhana Nrityalaya, Anagha has been a learner of Bharatnatyam. She is a Nritya Visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and has ranked 1st in the practical examination of Visharad Pratham. She has also done her BA in Classical Arts from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth University. Her endless love for the art form has made her an avid artist and a true sadhaka of dance.

Swetha Baruah
Swetha Baruah is a part of the teaching faculty of the Sadhana team and has been learning this art form with utmost dedication and sincerity. She handles the Marketing and Design vertical of the Institute along with her dedicated teaching. She is a Nritya Visharad from the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya University and has a keen interest in classical music along with dance. Her bubbly nature appeals to all her students making her fondly loved.

Rashmi Motwani
Rashmi Motwani, a graceful dancer finds her calling in teaching. A Nritya Visharad in Dance from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Rashmi is the favorite of all little ones. Rashmi is also a student of Sunderji’s Institutes Teacher Training Program.

Nidhi Mehta
Nidhi Mehta is part of the teaching faculty at the institute and is a sadhaka of dance. A mother of two, a nutritionist, and a dancer, Nidhi has been instrumental in passing on this art form to the younger generations.
